We’re SO excited that Olivia Darcy won Newcomer of the Year 2022!
The Boutique Star Awards, the industry’s most exciting competition, created by the only trade publication in the UK dedicated to independent fashion and lifestyle retailers. The competition is open to all multi-brand independent retailers operating at least one bricks-and-mortar store as well as wholesale fashion and lifestyle suppliers.
With 16 awards up for grabs, entering will give you the chance to be recognised at national level as an industry leader. Those making the shortlist will see their business profile catapulted to new heights while the winners will also receive a stunning gold star trophy.
Newcomer of the Year 2022
This award will recognise an outstanding individual who joined the independent fashion retail community in 2020 or 2021. The winner will be passionate about the industry and contributing to its future success. They will already be a shining star in their current employment and will be eager to play a significant role in the overall industry. The award is open to any individual working on the retail or wholesale side of the industry including retail staff and owners, trade show teams, designers and those working for agencies and distributors.

“Olivia Darcy is a British, luxury womenswear brand situated in the heart of Yorkshire. Specialising in occasion wear, everything they do from initial first design sketch right through to sewing in their label, is done at their Huddersfield based studio. They are all designed and beautifully handmade in Yorkshire by a small creative team.
Despite launching just 12 months ago, they have achieved a lot in such a short space of time. They have also recently started stocking Olivia Darcy in a number of independent shops. Locally in Huddersfield, nationally in London and most recently internationally in New York, now making this Yorkshire born brand recognisable worldwide. Their future prospects include opening a retail outlet that allows them to explore the bespoke side of Olivia Darcy. They are excited to create a more tailored experience to the Olivia Darcy brand. Experimenting and creating one off made to measure garments that their personal clients desire.
I feel that Olivia Darcy deserves to win this award because their attention to detail and passion is injected into each and every garment, right down to the last stitch. What they achieve in their studio is special and rare to find in the industry today. I already feel that they have made a positive impact on the industry, and their customers outlook on slow fashion, and I find this inspiring. The garments are beautifully designed to be as special as the occasion, making Olivia Darcy a worthy winner of this award.”
